What is the Weather Field?

The Weather Field is a new smart field type that automatically captures and displays local weather conditions based on the user's GPS location at the time the report is created.

This field is ideal for incident reports, inspections, and fieldwork documentation—providing valuable context like temperature, humidity, wind, and sky conditions.

? How to Add the Weather Field

  1. Open your desired report template in the Template Builder.

  2. Under the Standard tab in the left sidebar, click the Weather field.

  3. The Weather Field will be added to your template. You can drag and drop it anywhere in the layout.

? No configuration required — the field works out of the box.

? How It Works

  • When a new report is started, the field:

    • Captures the GPS coordinates

    • Queries an external weather service

    • Displays current conditions:
      ☀️ Condition | ? Temperature | ? Humidity | ? Wind Speed

  • A network connection is required to pull live data.

✏️ Manual Edits Allowed

If conditions change or the weather service response needs adjusting, tap Edit to modify any of the auto-filled fields before submitting the report.

Example Use Case

In an Incident Report, the Weather Field can help document conditions that contributed to the event—such as rain, heat, or wind—providing extra clarity for internal reviews or insurance purposes.
